Misa-ri Prehistoric Relic (Historical site No. 269)

  • 1. Introduction

    As a site consisting of 1,470m from south to north and 20 ~ 40m from east to west, it was found in 1962. Because the layered cultural remains over the Neolithic era, the Patternless Earthenware era, the early Three Kingdoms era and Baekje era were found, it is the vary rare relics in Korea and the world Especially, in the layer of the Bronze era, a lot of patternless earthenware and house site were found, in the layer of the Neolithic era, daily tools such as a lot of comb pattern earthenware, weight of fishing net, flint arrowhead and stone ax and carbonized acorn were found. It is evaluated as an epoch-making material for the study on farming technology development history of Korea because large-sized patch of Baekje era was found for the first time in Korea.

Iseongsanseong (Historical site No. 422)

  • 1. Instruction

    It is located in Mt. Iseong of san 36, Chungung-dong, Hanam-si and it is designated as Historical site No. 422. The height of fortress is 6~7m, its circumference is 1.84km. Because it is constructed according to geographical features, centering on main peak, its shape is close to irregular pentagon. Castle, reservoir used in the period and building site still exist. On the peak, there are nonagon and octagonal building sites where King held ceremony. Especially, hexagonal building site was not found in other places. It is being evaluated as an important material because it is possible to understand social figure of the current period through earthenware, tile and weapon excavated in building site and castle and various daily tools excavated in reservoir.

Beophwasa site and Budo

hungung-dong Dongsa Site (Historical site No. 352)

  • 1. Instruction

    It is a large size temple site created in the early Koryeo Dynasty, and the size of the main temple is estimated to match that of the main temple of Hwangryongsa in Gyeongju. During excavation project in 1988, with discoveries of written tiles with the words “Dongsa”, meaning wooden temple, confirmed it as a temple site. Other discoveries include gold-copper Buddha statute, convex tiles at the edge of eaves, Buddhist equipments made of copper and porcelains. Because of octagonal structure with diameter of 5.1m, the condition of the remains, and unique architectural style, it provides an important material for studies of history of architecture and Korea Buddhism art history.
