Tree Orphanage is the rest place of trees where trees with slow growth or have no place to go are transported and damages treated devotedly. Once the trees recover their health, they are being sent out to live new life as trees lining the streets or garden trees. The orphanage has been established on 280,000m2 of land in the general regions of Misari (#328-2 Mangwol-dong), and trees that were destined to be cut down from site of extensive civil engineering works such as new construction of roads and apartment construction as well as trees being discarded at construction sites of new apartments in urban center have been brought here for treatment of injuries and injection of nutrients for revival as landscaping trees.
In addition, the "Tree Orphanage,” with several thousands of trees in harmony with the neighboring Han River has become a new tourist attraction of Hanam for large number of visitors including those that travels through the riverside road and visiting students, and enabling the visitors the be aware of the importance of protection of nature as the venue to learn to love environment.
